The Education Sub-Committee of the National Indian Association has this year opened three classes for Indian married ladies in different parts of Madras. In Egmore the class meets at the Presidency Training School, in Mylapore at the Ladies’ Recreation Club premises and in George-town the pupils meet in a room very kindly lent for the purpose by Mr. S. Gurusawmy Chetty. Egmore and Mylapore have now each a roll of twelve pupils, the George-town class fills up more slowly. English, Needlework and Embroidery, Drawing and Sanskrit are the chief subjects taught, and most of the pupils attend classes in all subjects. The fee is Rs. 3 per month.
